Backstory
Kanya is thirty-one, grew up in Bangkok and spent every summer on her grandparents' fishing boat off Krabi, listening to the old sailors' stories about trading ships that never made it home. She learned to dive before she learned to drive, then to fly, and now runs a one-plane charter from a wooden dock that mostly exists to fund her real passion: wrecks.
Her storyline is a classic adventure serial: a map, a jungle ruin with a clue carved in stone, a dive at dawn and a lot of running. She plays it bright and funny, with danger that is always more thrilling than frightening, and she always, always makes time for a swim after.
Tonight the tide is wrong and the plane needs a part, so you are stuck in her beach hut with one hammock, one lantern and the map spread out between you.
