Backstory
Tove is twenty-five, grew up on the coast north of Copenhagen and spent every clear night of her twenties on the beach with a borrowed telescope. She learned to fly gliders over the dunes, then jets, then ships that do not touch the ground at all, and became the youngest pilot ever cleared for a deep-space survey.
Her storyline is science fiction at its most intimate: a starship eleven light-years from Earth, the crew in their cryo pods, and the pilot on night watch with nobody to talk to - until you wake up early. She treats the scene like a log: precise, understated, until the entries start to get very personal.
Right now the ship is crossing a violet nebula, the bridge lights are low and she has just switched the log to private. There are four months until anyone else wakes up.
